when we have a regulation 35 major BS to "protect" authors "investment" and yet we have cars that have less than three different paint jobs in a season with Carl Edwards Office Depot / AFLAC / claritan, bush ky Mars / Interstate Batteries, Gordon J with pepsi / Dupont, dale jr mt dew and the National Guard, and the list goes on and on, and yet we have guys busting their goals by trying to pass the show on shoe string budgets with no sponsors, as Jon Andretti and a few others, do not feel NASCAR is too much to protect the developer at the expense of small teams of guys running? do you think a title sponsor of the ONR per team per year could help send the sponsorship money to the small teams, and perhaps help to limit the funding of larger teams?
It takes a lot money these days to be a sponsor. It takes a lot of money these days to hire a "good" driver. It takes a lot money these days and people in the stands want to see the big name drivers when they go to the track. I want to see the big name drivers when I look on TV So how can you solve this problem? "The fastest 43 in qualifying race? And if Jeff Gordon crashes in qualifying and did not race? What What if Jimmie Johnson blows a tire in the same qualifying session? And let's suppose blows engine up Tony Stewart's and Junior's car is only the "off". Exactly how many of those fans in the stands and those at home go watch a race, minus 24, 48, 20 and 88? Heck a whole a lot more than those who do not look, or attend because the 45 was not on the track! But back to your question: yes, I do not think NASCAR is too much to protect the developer. But how to get the genie in the bottle?
