How come we do not hear the engine of the car as television commercials for Shell and this cool video Red Bull?
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YhF_Zp8nM7o&mode=related&search = Is it because the commentators talk too much or did they not good microphones on cars during races? Personally, I would have liked the sound my loud speakers during the race! Email ITV Television and speed and tell them to mount the motor volume.
Having been in the pits for a few races in the past (courtesy of former ARROWS F1 Team), I can tell you that this does not even come close to the actual noise. When you are near the car, you can feel the sound. Even with earplugs, its physically painful. What you hear on TV (or computer) is as good as it can get, remembering that the cameras or telephoto lens (which means they are far from as close to the car as it sounds), and in-camera car is in front of the engine – and most of the sound is behind the car.
